New Report: Sustainability Nears Tipping Point
A recent report from MITSloan Management Review says that 70% of survey respondents who say their companies have put sustainability on the management agenda, have done so in the past 6 years – and 20% of this group say it’s happened in the past 2 years. The research report discusses findings and offers lessons to managers who are either trying to develop sustainability agenda or wondering whether they should. Two-thirds of respondents said that sustainability was necessary to being competitive in today’s marketplace, up from 55% in the 2010 survey. Moreover, despite a lackluster economy, many companies are increasing their commitment to suustainability initiatives, the oppostie of what one would expect if sustainability wew simply a luxury afforded by good times.
