“On Paper” Podcasts Feature Sustainability Pros
Sometimes, the best way to learn about corporate sustainability is to hear about it from someone who is "walking the talk" and actually putting the principles to work at their company every day. Last month, I posted a videoclip from Ray Anderson, the founder of Interface. Today, I want to introduce you to “On Paper,” a podcast interview series that allows you to listen to a variety of global business leaders discuss the relevant issues associated with sustainability.
The On Paper podcast series is the brainchild of NewPage Corp.,North America’s leading coated paper manufacturer. On Paper features experts on a wide range of topics, including corporate responsibility, renewable energies, carbon strategy, and waste and forest management. Season 1 of On Paper attracted more than 800,000 listeners, and featured sustainability pros, such as Joel Makower (Greener World Media), Pat Connolly (Williams-Sonoma), and Tom Balf (Nexus Environmental Partners). Now, NewPage is launching Season 2, a collection of 17 interviews from the second annual Fortune:Brainstorm GREEN.
On Paper Season 2 will include interviews from Conservation Int'l., Greenpeace, Herman Miller, IBM , Intel, Interface, McDonald's, Oakleaf Waste Management , Sodexo, Starbucks, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Time, Inc. and Verizon.
In addition, a special two-person podcast features Rick Willett, President and CEO of NewPage, and Craig Hanson, director, People & Ecosystems, World Resources Institute (WRI), as they discuss their joint venture, Project POTICO (Palm Oil, Timber, Carbon Offsets), an important initiative to preserve endangered virgin rainforests in Indonesia by moving new palm oil plantations to already degraded lands.
