Recent Panel Intelligence Survey Finds Most Companies Plan to Maintain or Increase Spending on Sustainability in 2009

Panel Intelligence, LLC, a market research firm for the CleanTech and Healthcare industries, recently published their first “Quarterly Sustainability Tracking Study.” This survey polled 65 sustainability executives of Fortune 500 companies and found that 80% plan to either maintain or increase levels of sustainability-related spending next year, despite the current downturn in the economy.

No Smiles for Nintendo

It’s time for another edition of the Greenpeace “Guide to Greener Electronics,” which periodically ranks the 18 global leaders in mobile phone, computer, TV, and game console markets based on their policies and practices with regard to toxic chemicals, recycling, energy, and climate change. The current edition focuses on climate leadership, and like the version I posted about back in July, the results left me puzzled. What is it going to take to get these electronics companies on board with sustainability initiatives?

Procter & Gamble Releases 2008 Sustainability Report

Late last month, the Procter & Gamble Company released its 2008 Sustainability Report, titled “Designed to Innovate … Sustainably.” It’s comprehensive, easy to read, and loaded with examples of how corporate sustainability initiatives can drive innovation –and improve the bottom line.
